Teacher's Union Advertisement-I agree.

Randi Weingarten explains that tenure is not a significant cause for bad schools.

Fifty percent turn-over (within 5 first years of teaching by mostly good teachers) in the teacher profession, she says, and I agree, is a much bigger cause for poor teaching. How can we retain good teachers?

Following the defeat ( in November 2010) of Washington D.C Mayor Adrian Fenty in primaries, his anti-union board of ed. head, Michelle Rhee, resigned. The vote against Fenty seems to have been a vote against Rhee. Randy Weingarten and I are pleased.
